Who We Are TaskTeddy ("we", "us", "our") operates the TaskTeddy website and mobile application — a marketplace that connects customers with verified independent Taskers for household and personal tasks. For the personal data you share with us, TaskTeddy is the Data Fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have. ## 2. Information We Collect We collect: (a) identity and contact details you provide — name, phone number, email address, and address for task locations; (b) task information — task descriptions, your set price, schedules, chat messages with Taskers, and reviews; (c) payment information — processed through RBI-authorised payment gateways; we do not store your full card or bank details; (d) Tasker verification data — for Taskers, identity documents, background-check results, and skill information; and (e) usage and device data — pages visited, features used, device type, and approximate location, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy). ## 3. How We Use Your Information We use personal data to: create and manage your account; match posted tasks with Taskers and enable bidding and chat; process payments and release them after task completion; verify Taskers and keep the Platform safe; provide customer support and handle grievances; send service communications (booking confirmations, launch updates); send marketing communications where you have consented, which you can opt out of at any time; and comply with legal obligations. We process personal data only for the purposes we state when we collect it. ## 4. Consent & Legal Basis We process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give when you sign up or use a feature, and for certain legitimate uses recognised by the DPDP Act (such as processing you voluntarily initiate, compliance with law, or responding to a medical emergency). Each consent request will tell you what data is collected and why. You may withdraw your consent at any time through your account settings or by contacting us; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, but some features may stop working without the related data. ## 5. How We Share Information We do not sell your personal data. We share it only: (a) with Taskers or Customers, to the extent needed to perform a task (for example, a hired Tasker sees the task address and your first name); (b) with service providers who process data on our instructions — payment gateways, cloud hosting, analytics, SMS/email delivery, and background-verification agencies; (c) with law-enforcement or government authorities where required by law; and (d) to protect the rights, safety, or property of TaskTeddy, our users, or the public. Our service providers are bound by contracts to protect your data. ## 6. Cookies & Analytics Our website uses cookies and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site and to improve it. Data Security We implement reasonable security safeguards as required by the DPDP Act, including encryption in transit, access controls, secure servers, and periodic reviews. In the event of a personal data breach affecting you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. ## 8. Data Retention We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When data is no longer needed for its stated purpose, we erase it, unless a longer retention period is required by law (for example, financial and transaction records under tax law, or minimum retention periods under the DPDP Rules). After account deletion, residual data is removed within the timelines permitted by applicable law. ## 9. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act You have the right to: (a) access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it has been processed; (b) correct, complete, or update your data; (c) erase data that is no longer necessary, subject to legal retention requirements; (d) grievance redressal through our Grievance Officer (Section 13); (e) nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity; and (f) withdraw consent at any time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India. You can also opt out of marketing at any time via the unsubscribe link in our emails or your notification settings. ## 10. Children's Privacy TaskTeddy is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children (persons under 18) and do not permit them to create accounts. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it. ## 11. Where Your Data Is Stored Your personal data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. If any data is transferred outside India, we do so only as permitted under the DPDP Act and its Rules, and subject to any government restrictions on specific countries. ## 12. Third-Party Links The Platform may contain links to third-party websites (for example, app stores or social media). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies independently. ## 13. We will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and respond to rights requests and grievances within the timelines prescribed under the DPDP Act and Rules. ## 14. Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy periodically, including to reflect changes in law such as the phased implementation of the DPDP Rules, 2025.
